My goal, is for all of the computers in the house, to talk to each other and
share the internet. It is my understanding the hardware i've pick should
accomplish this.
In fact internet connections are working fine. Trying to get the two machine
to talk to eacth other has been a different story. I've run network setup on
both machines.
The main machine shows a network when i go to workgroups, But i cant get the
secondary machince to show up in workgroups. On the second machine I'm
running Zone Alarm. I thought this was preventing me creating a network so i
shut it down. It didnt help. I think what im going do now is reformat the
harddrive on the second machine and start from the scratch. If this doesnt
work I'll be looking for your suggestion.
Thank you
William

William,

This sort of problem is most frequently caused by a misconfigured or overlooked
personal firewall, or other security component, but there are several other
possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this article
with an open mind.

Do you see any error messages too, or just empty workgroups? Are all computers
in the same workgroup?

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):
