I'm getting a problem. I managed to get access to my files on my server
today, using: ftp under Internet Explorer. I can't seem to access the server
folders as a drive pointer, as with Windows 98. I really need to access as a
network drive because otherwise I can't get windows photo thumbnails to work
nor can I get my older Photo Explorer thumbnails to work.
I have no other working method of accessing the files.
I'm using XP Pro on my PC, connected to the server (running SME Linux) via a
CAT 5 crossover cable running at 100Mbps.
I tried to setup a network connection via the network connection wizard but
in the box where it says enter \\server\directory, when I entered
\\Zeus\\primary, it said "create folder" and wouldn't let me do it nor would
it access the existing folders. Browse has zero effect either. XP cannot
'see' my server yet Internet Explorer will ftp from it!
Help.
