i am trying to connect to my work network, and map a
drive to my server. but i cannot see any other computers
on the network. i was fine in windows 2000, but xp is
confusing me.
help
 
There is a networking newsgroup here that might better answer your question
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web

One thing to look for is having firewalls enabled on your xp systems. If
enabled those systems won't be accessible on your LAN unless you open ports.
 
I had to enable some additonal protecols on my computer for it to work right. I had the same problem you did before I enabled them.
