hi, sorry for being so dummy and my bad englis
i've got a network with almost 50 pc, with a machine being the server of data and not a relly server for service. >The acess to the internet is thrue a switch with a powerfull router
the "server" has xp pro and i want to know, how to put it being like a server, with xp pro, for intranet, for webpages, with adresses on the network by writing and not by numbers of ip..

the network ip's are fixed by me

i hope you understand and could give me a help..
thanks

You will need a DNS server to accomplish this, perhaps
your router will act as one?

If I understand you correctly, i think you would need a
server operating system (server 2003, SBS etc) rather
than XP pro, so that you could make use of IIS etc.
With 50 computers on the network, a proper server would
probably be a good investment anyway. If the machine you
are currently using has a high enough specification, it
may just require an upgrade of the operating system. If
it is just a standard PC then it would probably mean a
new machine to make your network effective.
