hello,
Ihave two xp systems that I have linked together via lan ports, set up for
network all ok but.. secondary computer asks for a name and password to
access the main computer, if I change the user name on the main computer it's
ok but i lose all my settings as a new user so i restored it ,but cant make
this work the other way ie common user name and password on both pc's so i'm
back to one way again, network settings were fine when i had it working and
fire wall and security were ok just this password thing stopping the flow any
help is great
ps, although i have some idea I'm a mile away from geek status on pc's so i
apolagise if this is a dumb question.

Don't change the user name; instead create user accounts and passwords
on both machines that are identical.
