I have a trouble on setting the network connection to the internet.
The whole things are I first accidentally set up the network through
"set up or change your home or small office network, and in the
network setup wizard, I choose the option of "this computer connects
to the internet through another computer on my network or through a
residendial gateway". After setting, my computer suddenly can not
connect to the internet anymore. I realize that the setting should be
wrong, so I run the "set up or change your home or small office
network" again, and in the setup wizard, I try to choose other option
as "This computer connects to the internet directly or through a
network hub. Other computers on my network also connect to the
internet directly or through a hub", but the result is "an error
occured during configuration of the network on this computer". and I
tried other options, the result is the same. I also scaned my system
through network diagnostics, in the list of modems and network
adapters, I can not see the any information beside the network
adapters. (i do enabled the network adapter)

the whole setting process drive me craze, any help will be great
appreciated.

I'm sorry that you're having trouble with the Wizard -- that happens
sometimes, due to some bug in Windows XP. Fortunately, you can make
the network settings manually, without using the Wizard.

Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the situation.
Describe what type of Internet connection you have (dial-up, cable
modem, DSL, satellite, other) and how it connects to your network.
Give the make and model of the network hub, switch, or router that
your computers connect to. I'm sure that someone can help.
