How many network services do i need?In taskmanager i have seen as much as 3.I
have only one PC connected to the internet.I have a direct cable connection
with roadrunner high speed internet.I have had problems with there home page
not fully opening. They could not help me because it was a problem with XP
network services which they don't know about??I also checked that cookies
were accepted and the web address was in the CA firewall.I decided to make
another network service using XP's network setup wizard to make sure it is
for only one PC connecting. The home page is opening fine now.I haven't
checked the IE settings yet to see if there is a difference.Back to network
services,,,three started showing up the other day or i haven't notice.One, i
can stop with no problem with task manager. Two are svchost.exe network
service. One is a wmiprvse.exe network service, which is not in taskmanager all
the time. One of the svchost network service i can stop with no problem. The
other svchost which has a higher K value, when i try to stop it,it causes the
PC to reboot.Guess i shouldn't stop that one,,chuckles mentally.Please help
me understand about what programs like that needs to be running.I have
allready learn that there will be a few svchost.exe showing up in task
manager.
Thank You very much!!
