I have two computers linked through a network switch. One
is connected to the internet via broadband cable. Both
systems have XP Home. I cannot get the system set up so
that the machines will talk to each other and still keep
the internet connection.
When I run the setup wizard on one of the systems I get a
Spooler Apps Error message. Can you give me some
assistance?

Regards

Frank

If that doesn't work, try stopping the spooler service before you run the
Network Wizard.

Here's what you do.

1. Open a command prompt window.

2. Stop the spooler service - type "net stop spooler" (without quotes) and
hit the ENTER key.

3. Then setup the network. After you finish then you can restart the
service. You can restart the spooler service by typing "net start spooler"
(without quotes).

I have tried to setup the network after I stopped th
spooler - the wizard went through ok, however my
computers wont talk to each other. My cable modem is via
USB to one machine and works fine, but has been
interupted as I have tried to ling the system. Is there a
TCP/IP address I should put in manually?? I am compleatly
bamboozaled.

With thanks
Frank
