Hi
I am trying to get a small network going (PC, laptop, network printer,
broadband). The network was working about 2 years ago but it has not
worked properly since the introduction of broadband.
The laptop has xp professional on and links into another (work) network
with broadband, no problem. It also prints to the network printer on
my home network OK. Its when I try to get talking to the PC which has
the BT broadband connection (and is running xp home edition) that the
problems arise.
I have uninstalled the printer (to simplify matters).
Initially when I pinged from PC to laptop I got the message
"destination host unreachable", however giving the laptop a fixed IP
address - solved this. But I cannot get the laptop to ping the PC, I
keep getting "timed out".
Any help would be VERY useful!!
TIA
