network problem

I have setup a network between my two pc's one with xp pro the other xp home both are enabled, but when i try to share or see my local workgroups they will not let me access them permissions are denied see your administrator. please help me here.
 
I had a similar problem. Dunno if you having Home on one computer makes it
any different. Anyhow, you can check the thread "Password accessing gateway
computer's shared files?" further down.

Here's the passage that helped me:
Check the Local Security Policy (Control Panel - Administrative Tools). Under
Local Policies - Security Options, look at "Network access: Sharing and security
model", and ensure it's set to "Classic - local users authenticate as
themselves".

If you set the Local Security Policy to "Guest only", make sure that the Guest
account is enabled, and has a non-blank password. If "Classic", setup and use a
common account with identical password on both computers.
