Can anyone help.
I have a ethernet router/modem to connect my two pc's but they will not see
each other since installing Win xp pro. (used to work fine with Win 2000)

Have run the XP setup on both machines.
Both machines will connect ok to the web via router.
Both machines will see the shared files but only the files on that PC.

Can anyone help?
Thanks

Set up manual IP addresses for the connections to the router on both
machines. Make sure that the addresses are in the 192.168.0.* range (*
= number between 0 and 255). Also make sure that Simple File Sharing
is off in the Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View.
If the network does not work now, check the settings for the router.
You may want to connect both machines directly to find out if the
router blocks the traffic.
You can also re-run the Network Setup Wizard to gte the network
working. If the Wizard cannot solve this as well, you may want to
start over: remove the network cards from the machines, start Windows.
Run REGEDIT.EXE and find the name of the card or its manufacturer in
the Registry to delete all references to the devices. Shutdown
Windows, install the card and start the computer again. Run the
Network Setup Wizard to set up the network.
