I am building a home network. I would like to use a
printer router so that my computers will not have to be
turned on at the same time to print. The WinXP Pro
Printer Wizard does not discuss printer routers. My
EPSON RX500 3-in-1 help suggest one computer be the
server for both computers. What do you think? Would a
printer router work?

Thanks.

I'm using the Netgear FR114P which includes a printer server using a
parallel interface. Im not sure but I assume the RX500 uses USB so you'd
have to look for a router/print server that supports USB printers.
With mine, you use the Netgear installation CD on each PC to install a
special port driver. Once installed, the new port becomes listed amongst the
available ports in the printer properties eg LPT1:FR114P.
