network printer

I have a problem with shared HP 1200 Laser jet printer.
Printer connected to computer with WindowsXP OS. I can't
print to this network printer from network computers
(Windows98, Windows2000),exsept computers with WindowsXP
(from this computers printing is normal).
Interesting fact: other computer, identical with first
(WindowsXP and shared HP 1200 Laser jet printer)has no
problems with network printing from Windows98,
Windows2000.
Settings on both computers are identical.
Help!

Did you install the 98 and 2000 drivers for the printer your using on
the XP machine you are having issues with? The XP machine with the
printer directly connected to it needs the drivers for 2000 and 98
installed on that machine as well as the xp drivers. Right click on the
printer and on the sharing tab there is a selection for adding
additional drivers for operating systems other then XP.

Give that a try and let us know the results.
