Network printer spooling problem

I set up my desktop computer and laptop computer to network with each other. The laptop computer is able to enjoy all network facilities - including our Inetrnet cable connection - except my HP 4-functions (print,scan,fax,copy) printer which is attached to the desktop. It printed the very first time but, after that, it comes back with an 'error in the spooling sub-system'... Does anyone have any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

Thanks for the response.... I do not have (now or before) a Lexmark printer. Also, I have no issues using the printer from my desktop computer (which the orinter is physically attached to). It is only as I am trying to printe from my laptop when I get the "spooling error" message..
