Since the death of a motherboard and a weekend spent
rebuilding and restoring I have ran into somthing I cant
figure out.

After the running the restoring XP Pro I opened My Network
Places and seen all my connections. I reloaded all the
security updates and critical updates. Now when I open
Network places the computer slows way down and will not
show anything in network places. I can access the
internet with no problem. I checked the services in
computer managment and everything is on except RPC and it
is disabled.. Any fix for this without starting all over
again? Microsoft has to be tired of me calling to
reactivate by now hehehe.

we need more information to help. do you have workgroup network or domain?

The operating system on the other computer is XP Home.
Both computers are setup on a workgroup. Everything seems
to work good there, they can see each other, but when you
click view network connections the box comes up empty. I
cannot check the status of the network card either. I have
been thru the knowledge base and ran the .dll files and
one wont load. That is netman.dll. I did a few other
things that were posted in the knowledge base, removed the
network card from device manager and reinstalled it,
looked for a new driver and ran the network checker
utility. All those came back ok and up to date and so far
nothing has worked to shoiw the connection icon. The only
thing I have not tried yet is booting to safe mode with
networking to find out if the connections show up there.
Thanks
