Hi,

I'm trying to connect my desktop pc and laptop using an
ethernet cable, both running XP home edition. The
internet connection via broadband external modem works
fine on both and the desktop recognises the laptop and
can access files on it. The laptop has all the correct
settings but when I go to View Workgroup computers it
comes up with an error message 'MShome is not accessible
etc. The network path was not found'. I have been through
the network wizard several times and still no luck - the
only thing I have not done is use a setup disk which is
not possible as the laptop doesn't have a floppy drive
but I have used the XP disk still with no luck. Going
round in circles here and slowly tearing my hair out -
any help greatly appreciated before I go bald. Thanks.

One-way ping only

If you can ping other computers and other computers can't ping your
computer, this is often caused by an improperly configured firewall
on you computer. For example, ICF should not be enabled on LAN NIC.
