I am here at work using a Windows XP Home Edition computer
(which is just a constant problem) and our network name
keeps changing itself to MSHOME from the designated name
we gave it. Then when it does this it kicks you off the
network and internet (adsl through the LAN), then you get
to run the network wizard and set up the connection all
over again to change the name back. How do we get it to
stop changing the name on its own? I'm about to tear my
hair out!!!

Please help me
Jenny

I suffered this irritating frustration too, and am not too sure how it resolved itself! I've lost count of the number of hours, and times I reconfigured settings, but I finally ran the appropriate wizards on Client and Host (disabling ZoneAlarm first) and began to make progress. (its only 2 computers connected with an RJ45 crossover ethernet cable along with a DUN connection). So I can't give you a direct specific answer, but until someone does, and if you are like me and refuse to let the damned thing pulverise you, mark every step in the right direction with a System Restore point. I've found that very useful, and have Restored several times to a known desirable configuration, while I try to figure out the next step.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

Does anyone else know how to solve this problem, i've
spent near to a week of work trying to resolve the problem
and i'm ready to take a baseball bat to every computer
with XP in sight! Grr
