Network issues

ok i have been using xppro on my laptop and main pc, network file
sharing has never been a problem, until recently it just seemed to stop
working (well i did install norton AV 2006 but i never onticed the
change a the same time>
so yesterday i did a re-install on main pc including norton 2006 and
got it working again, only for it to stop! have tried wirewall off etc
but no good pc's can ping each other though!
1 other thing it was working ok last nite untill i installed office
2007 beta 2 tech refresh and asked for reboot i also have this on my
laptop.
please help

You're compounding your problems when you just go ahead and keep installing
things after something messes up.

Uninstall NAV and the BETA and get things workin right again, then start
over.

You DO realize that BETA means it's test softwrae that's NOT released
because it may still have bugs in it, right?
