I am in the process of trying to setup a wireless network and needless to say I have run into a few problems

None the less, today I noticed that a network has shown up in my network shows up when I view my network group. It is labled "SAUDER'. The network that I had setup is labled MVHOME... I am somewhat concerned since I did not create th
SAUDER network. Is it possible that since I had temporary taken down my firewall that someone has intruded on my
system

( I have PC 1 connected to a wireless router - Linksys and PC 2 is connected via a wireless ethernet.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated

You're seeing someone else's wireless network, not your own. I hope you set
up your wireless network with 128-bit WEP at a minimum (if you can't use
WPA) - it isn't crackproof, but it will make it harder for someone else to
get in.

Also make sure you change the default SSID (name) of the access point and
disallow broadcast of same, and change the local admin credentials/password
on the access point. Keep all your workstations patched to the gills via
Windows Update. Disable Guest on your computers, make sure you use good
passwords and NTFS....and run good antivirus software, updated regularly.
Just the basics. ;-)

You are seeing other wireless networks in your area . . . thus, they can
probably see your network as well. Make sure you have WEP or WAP enabled
and that you run a firewall.
