network folder problem

Every time I log on to the network, XP starts copying my
local personal files to my network folder. I have over 5
gb of data I do not want on the network. This is really
pissing me off because it would take forever to copy that
much data to the network, so, hence, it would and does
take forever to log in if I let it continue, and I do not
want it there in the first place. I also do not want XP
copying anything anywhere without me asking it to.

How do I stop XP from copying my local personal files to
my network folder? Anyone got a clue?

ask your network admin, what you probably need is a separate user folder on
the server that is not part of your profile. you could then map a drive
letter to it instead of having it copied to your local machine when you
logon.

Part of the problems with using Roaming Profiles. Put the stuff you
don't want copied somewhere on the local drive other than in your
documents directory structure, either that or disable your roaming
profile (talk to your netadmin if you are a member of a domain).
