I am running XP Pro on a Server 2003 domain. Recently, I am encountering two
performance problems.
First, the file browser takes 2 to 3 minutes to be populated. This is the
result of it trying to find the mapped network drives. Eventually, it finds
them. If I boot in Safe mode everything works fine.
Second, my document scanner is experiencing the same delay whenever an
application wants to use it. The scanner is connected via a USB 2.0 port.
Once the scanner software starts, it work fine, but when it exits, it has
the same time delay.
Any suggestions for the cause of these problems or how to diaganose them?
Should I be posting this message in another forum?
Thanks,
