Anyone know how to prevent a specified user on a local
computer (No Network) from accessing "Network
Connections" so that they cannot see the list of
connections when the "Network Connections" link is
clicked in XP Pro.
I just want to know if it's possible to hide the list
preferably without disrupting actual connections.
Maybe by disabling the link or by setting permisssions
somehow?
If possible I'd appreciate responses by e-mail if not
then c'est la vie.
Thanks

1. Go to the display properties
2. click on desktop tab
3. customize desktop... (bottom)
4. in the general tab you'll se 4 check box. Un check the My Network Places

It's only going to take away the icon on your desktop but you can still get
to it by going to the control panel. Hope that helps you in some ways.

Hope this helps :

To deny users to view the Network Connections;
Start\Run\type..Gpedit.msc
In User Settings\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Hide specified
subprograms in the Control Panel\Enable\Show\ Add\type ncpa.cpl\ok\ Apply\OK
This will deny view of Network Connections to all regular users except to
the Administrator, without disrupting actual connections.....

Regards....
