Hi
does anybody know what would cause my Network Connection to disable
randomly, i'm running XP Pro SP2. Is there a way to remove the ability to
disable the connection?

Thanx.

Since we don't know anything about your connection, your computer, your
network setup, or your network hardware, you can't get focused
troubleshooting.

Some general suggestions:

1. For whatever network hardware you are using, go to its Properties
from Device Manager and on the Power Management tab disable "allow
Windows to turn off this device when not in use".

2. Look in Event Viewer to see if there are any clues about what is
failing. Start>Run>eventvwr.msc [enter]

3. Random failures are most often hardware-related. Depending on your
network hardware and setup swap out network hardware for known-working
items. Start with the ethernet (if using ethernet) cable, the NIC, the
router (if using a router). Etc.

A frequent cause is (faulty) power-saving. Look for an option to 'save power
by turining this device off' for the LAN card, and uncheck it.
