WinXP Pro (SP1) on Compaq 8000T system

Home system connects to cable modem via a router.

Having trouble getting an Cisco VPN to connect. Other network stuff
seems to be fine.

When I look pick "Properties" from the desktop "Network" icon I am
offered two categories: "Network Bridge" and "Wizard". What I do not
see, and have seen by example on MS web site, is a category "LAN or
High-Speed Internet". I am looking for the latter to see if the XP
firewall is enabled, but cannot find it.

I am under the impression that with a NIC in the system (actually built
into the motherboard in my case) that I should see the "LAN or
High-Speed Internet" as one of the offerings.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Thomas
