Hi, I am trying to set up a network between my windows XP
home pc and Windows 98 pc with a network crossover cable.
I used the Network setup wizard in windows XP and then
put the XP disc into my 98 pc and folowed all of the
instructions, and when i have done that nothing seems to
happen, when i go into My Network Places on my Windows XP
PC the window is blank, and i cannot access anything, and
if i click on view workgroup computers i get an error
message saying that Access has been denied, please
contact your system administrator. and on my Windows 98
Pc when i go into Network Neighbourhood i can acccess
that pc but not my other one. I have checked all of the
cables and everything seems to be working properly.

Could Somebody Please Please Help Me.

Thanks

I had that problem once. I ended up having to install NetBEUI (which is not
normally in XP, but is available on the CD).

Do you have the firewall active on the Win XP side of
your LAN connection? That will sometimes block all
network activity, regardless of where you are trying to
connect. The NetBEUI solution also will fix the problem.
