Wired network, after full shares, the 2000 machince can
access everything on the '98 machine. the '98 machine can
see the '00 machine in the broswer but can't access it.
When attemping to access '00 machine, it ask for a network
password. I have't set u pa password anywhere, so there
must be a generic password and I can't find it anywhere?

Create an account on both computers with an identical username/password.
Log into the win98 computer using that username/password.

Two ways to solve it, first way is to create an acount on EVERY
machine EXACTLY the same, name AND password.
The other is to left click on my computer, on the 2000 machine, and
click on manage, expand local users and groups and click on users, in
the right panel right click on guest, then left click on properties
and uncheck the account is disable. Now the 2000 machine is open to
anyone that has access to your network.
