I was running a network through a LAN just fine up until 2 wks ago, when my Windows 98SE CPU was fried (electrical surge I think). Anyway, the new CPU runs with Windows XP Pro (as does the other computer) and now what was formerly a shared and synchronized QuickBooks program is inaccessible from both computers. I can see the program in the network places, but the info is not shared
After much discussion and much support payment to both Gateway and QuickBooks, it seems to be an OS/security issue, now that both computers use XP-Pro
I have checked all shared/security isuues available on both licensed copies of QuickBooks, but no go. In order to keep current on both computers, I now have to backup online to QuickBooks, then download to the other computer. Really NOT what I want, since multi-user access is vital
Any ideas or similar isuues someone can suggest
Thanks
