Not sure if this is the right forum, if not please point me in the
right
direction.

I'm a web app developer who was been tasked with developing a batch
file
that will change network settings on user machines. I have used the
netsh
command to set the connection to dhcp in both XP and 2000.

My problem is with ME and 98. I need to change network settings to have
the
dns and ip select automatically (dhcp). netsh apparently wasn't used
when
those two OS's were developed, and I haven't been able to find how to
change
these settings from the comand line in a batch file for 98 or ME.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is definitely wrong newsgroup for your questions.
You should post it to microsoft.public.win32.programmer.networking, microsoft.public.win95.networking or
microsoft.public.win98.networking newsgroups.

PS. You can change the network related information directly in registry. Although some dynamic variables will be there per different
machines.
Also, there is a bunch of 3rd party tools available for 95/98/ME to do what you asked for, e.g. NetSwitcher.
