My pc will not allow me to initialize a netmeeting call.
I receive an error message, "the person you called is not
able to accept netmeeting calls."

However, that same person is able to contact me and
establish a netmeeting through messenger and netmeeting.
Although the connection is established (NetMetting), I am
unable to receive audio from that party.

I am using a laptop with Win XP pro, a wireless card
(mini PCI), and connecting to a router (DLINK) to access
the internet.

Question 1: Do I need to open a port on my router (which
port corresponds to NetMeeting) in order for my pc to
initiate the netmeeting?
Question 2: What settings do I need to adjust in order to
receive audio?
Question 3: What does QoS provide and should I uncheck
that box?

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

If the initiation attempt is via Messenger's "Start NetMeeting" -- there is
nothing you can to do. You will be unable to initiate NetMeeting calls via
messenger.

Question 2: What settings do I need to adjust in order to

Likely the only way you will receive audio ( and video) in a NetMeeting
calls is if your client is the dmz client in the router ( use of a personal
software firewall is recommended if you set your computer as the dmz client
as it is fully exposed).

Question 3: What does QoS provide and should I uncheck
that box?

Not sure what box you are referring to but the QoS function will provide
nothing to help in your situation.
