Netgear m111 with xp sp2

i installed xp with sp2 and i went to install the driver for my netgear usb
m111 and when the driver installed it shut down windows. and if the device is
in a usb slot xp will shut down.

Check to verify whether the MA111 is v1 or v2. The drivers are not
interchangeable. Here is how to tell if it is v1 or v2. (Copied from

The firmware is not interchangable! You must select the appropriate version.

Versions can be identifed either by:

Reading the label on the unit.
The MA111v2 has a blue light, instead of an orange/red one.
The shipping box. As the label shows below, the version displays on — not on
the front — but on the side and on the back.

NETGEAR Web pages mentioning the MA111 refer to both versions, unless
otherwise noted.
