sounds like your browser
is unable to save cookies.

these settings can be found
in the options under the
security tab or possibly
another.

basically, something is preventing
that site from seeding your pc
with their cookies, so it may or
may not be ie that is protecting
you.

if it is still not working, try
a different browser, like
firefox or netscape...

For the past three days I have been unable to get anything on the Netflex
site other than a page with the url
http://www.netflix.com/entryTrap.html?why=cookieless
Per my internet provider, I deleted cookies, deleted files and disabled my
firewall. I am able to acess other sites (eg: my bank). This is the only
site I'm having a problem with.

To change Internet Explorer privacy settings

In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet
Options.
Click the Privacy tab.
Under Settings,
To allow or block cookies from specific websites, click Sites.

When you are finished making changes to your privacy settings, click OK.

Already did that. No effect.

Some registry setting has been broken. My attempt at a fix would be to turn
OFF the cookies for the site, restart IE, turn ON the cookies, restart IE,
try the site.

you're best bet is
to reinstall ie.

however, you might
want to use a freeware
called autorun's from
microsoft.com

it can tell you if there
are any add-ons that
could be interfering...

Tried Foxfire to no avail. Other programs are accepting cookies, eg: this
one.

Reinstall what?

I went to the autoruns site, but need more help on what to do with it. How
do I use it?

reinstall ie...as in "internet explorer"

the other suggestion with autoruns
provides a tab for ie.

autoruns was designed you to show
you some behind the scenes settings.
and by checking a line item then double
clicking the filename the registry key
will be disabled. Or the key can
be enabled again by unchecking and
double clicking the filename.

it's hard to say what you may or may not
recognize as valid. however, there is
an ie tab that may provide something
unusual that may be preventing the
cookies or inhibiting netflix.

maybe disabling
all the add-ons noted might provide
the cookies to be downloaded.

or maybe
the url for the cookie is being blocked.

or maybe there is a startup or
anti spyware that could be
blocking netflix

i'm only providing some general
ideas that might be helpful.

i had a similar problem with
another site last week. i think
it happened after i ran spybot.

i tried a multitude of methods
to get the cookies to download
again including reinstalling ie7 as well.

don't know what made it working
again, but i found that an activex
control was now unblocked somewhere,
somehow.
