net1.exe and net.exe making cpu run at 100%

Net1.exe and net.exe is running non-stop multiple processes which makes my CPU utilisation 100%. If I end it, another one of the net1.exe just takes it’s place and keeps my PC at 100%.

what are net.exe and net1.exe?? i don't recognize them as windows
components. have you scanned for viruses, worms, spyware, adware, trojans,
hijackers, etc????
 
Yes I have scanned for viruses etc etc. Nothing listed
found. I have deleted McAfee etc and will install another
product as not confident of McAfee.
checked work PC and net.exe exists but could find NO
net1.exe
 
Both exist here, but I have no problems. Properties of both net and net1
seem to indicate they're Microsoft standard issue programs. net /? and net1
/? yeild identical results when entered at a command prompt.

Windows 2000 Professional SP3.

Neither program is listed in task manager.
