I have a home network using XP with other room PC. The network is working
very well using WORKGROUP but whenever i try to send a message though cmd
prompt using "net send" command it won't go at all. It says "the message
alias coudn't be found on the network" !! What does that mean? can any body
help?

Service Pack 2 automatically disables the Messenger service (not to be
confused with Windows Messenger, an IM program). You need the Messenger
service to be running for net send to work.

Start>Run>services.msc [enter]

Scroll down to Messenger, start it, and set to automatic. Make sure your
lan is safe behind a firewall.
