I've asked this question in the network_web group, but I've had good answers
in this group before so I'll try here as well.
At work, I use the 'net send' command to send messages to co-workers. I can
enter their lan ids (aliases) to send the message. They receive the message
fine, but the messenger alert screen shows my computer name as the sender,
not my lan id. Our computer names are numeric nonsense and you can't figure
out who the message is from. Is there a way I can configure the net command
so that net send uses my lan id as the sending name.
I'm certain there must be some way. I have a third party utility from
Ariolic that does exactly this, and works fine. It's just too cumbersome to
use regularly.
