.NET Passport still on multiple user accounts?

It has become personal.

On the Home screen, an alert displays for one user that she has two unread
messages for a .NET account that was registered previously to the original
user account, but is now registered to the second user account. Both
accounts are Computer Administrator types, and a different .NET account has
been registered to the original user account.

We have tried to fix this. It does not work. Assistance would be much
appreciated.

In addition, to clear the previous passport user:

Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2. Advanced/Manage
Passwords/Remove.

Tip:

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

Added info:

To remove an account or to change the count manually Go to:
Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Your
E-Mail Address]. In the right pane modify: Message Count, Change it to 0.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail. In
the right pane modify: MessageExpiryDays Change it to 0.

Kelly HELP!

Whenever I try to email an attachment or dowload a file I get the following
dialogue

"Enter Network Password
This secure Web Site (at loginnet.passport.com) requires you to logon.
Please type the User Name and Password that you use for Microsoft Passport."

I've checked the User Accounts and I don't have any stored User Names and
Passwords. I've even tried going back to an earlier system restore point and
that didn't help.

How can I disable this .net Passport association?

Download and install tweakui for xp and use its repair mail count feature
or use it to turn the mail count off completely.

Or edit the registry and delete the mail accounts you don't want:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail
