|Think long and hard about installing Dell Solutions. What particular
|capabilities are you interested in? Much of the software that the
|manufacturers provide(even Dell) is poorly written and not particularly
|useful. It just clutters up your Hard Drive and may slow your computer
|down.

The above is quite possibly true.
If you do want to install .NET, you usually can get it as a "recommended"
(as opposed to "critical") update via Windows Update.
Otherwise, you can go to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/technologyinfo/howtoget/default.aspx
where there are instructions on how to get it. You can download the
Redistributable near the bottom of the page, and run that to install .NET
Note that there was recently a service pack for .NET, so you probably want to
get that as well - Windows Update after you install it, or go to:
