Hi I just recently installed .Net Framework 1.1. I needed to install this
because I was installing the latest driver for my ATI video card.

After installing both things, when I restarted my computer, it now requires
me to log on my account. Meaning I now have to press on the account to enter
Windows when before I didn't have to. Is this suppose to happen?

And if possible, can someone help me on this: My toolbars now has two ATI
icons. One is white letters with red lining while the other is while letters
in a red box. Is this normal?

Take a look at this article:

The Welcome to Windows screen appears when you start Windows XP
after you install the .NET Framework 1.1
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827072/en-us

The update can be obtained through the Windows Update site or
here:

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...4F-088E-40B2-BBDB-A83353618B38&displaylang=en

If this doesn't resolve the issue you can do the following:

Go to Start -> Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:

control userpasswords2

Click OK.
In the "Users of this computer" box, click on the User you want
to have logged on automatically.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
Click OK.
In the box that pops up, make sure the account you clicked on
earlier is entered next to User Name.
Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if the account does
not have a password.
Click OK.
Reboot to see if you get the desired results.

As for your having two ATI icons in the notification area, I
have no idea. Do both icons run the same configuration program?
It may be that the updated driver installed a new configuration
program that runs in the background without removing the one
that the original driver installed. Check msconfig and see if
there are two ATI entries. Beyond that, you might want to check
ATI's support site.

Good luck

Ok the ATI thing is doing different tasks each. One of them is the Control
Center. Anyways, there isn't any Users of this Computer box. Only usernames
which I think you meant. I don't see the point on clicking on any of them
though because no matter what I click, after unchecking Users must enter a
user name and password to use this computer, I can't click on any of the
users anymore. So clicking on the user names seems pointless.... Can't I just
uncheck the "User must enter....." thing? And just to be sure, should I pick
Enduser or Administrator?

Whether you pick Enduser or Adminstrator depends on which
account you use on a regular basis. When you hit the Start
button, what name is displayed at the top? That's the account
you want to enter. Another way to find out which account is
currently logged on is through Task Manager. Hit the Ctrl + Alt
+ Del keys at the same time. Click on the Users tab in Task
Manager.

If you're still having problems resolving this issue, here are
a couple of web sites you might want to look at:

Configure Windows XP to Automatically Login
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

Skip the Welcome Screen and Logon Automatically
http://mvps.org/marksxp/WindowsXP/welskip.php

Good luck
