Net command to disable appliance

I have a NAS on our network which we use for scheduled backups overnight. It
stays on during the day, but becomes a drag when Windows wakes it up
regularly during file operations.

I would like to know if I can disable it through software, perhaps a Net
command from a DOS prompt, and then simply reenable it before it is called
into service each night.

Thanks...

If the NAS device is not based (have its operating system as) Windows,
then you will need to contact the unit's manufacturer in order to see
how you can do this.
