Hi,
Sorry for posting this here but I hope someone can help. I burned some data
on a CR-R but after that my CDRW drive can't seem to read from the disk.
Thanks!

By the way, Thanks Unk and Rick "Nutcase" Rogers for your info.

Hey there,

Probably a silly check, but did you "close" the CD when you were done? If
you don't close it only Nero (or your burner drive) will be able to read it
(with some exceptions) ...

I'm sorry but how do I know if I have "closed" the CD. I tried opening it
with my burner drive but everything "hangs" while the drive's trying to read
the disk even my DVD drive can read it. When I rebooted my PC, my E: drive
(CDRW Burner) is missing from "My Computer". Please help.

Ivan,

More than likely your cd-rw drive has failed. It has nothing to do with
your last burned cd. Your drive just failed and you need a new one. I have
never heard of a burning of a cd would cause it to fail but I would bet that
it may have overheated or something during the process and shorted out one of
its parts. Go get a dvd-rw, you can get one with software from 60 dollars
these days.

Before you go and buy a new dvd-rw try just cleaning the drive with a can of
air. Cost is under 10 bucks. Sometimes a little dust or dirt can impair the
lens. Its worth a shot. Another option is to test different kinds of discs,
dvd, cd, installation software, etc.

Thanks Tim. I can't download the fix. I think my OS is illegal or not
registered. Let me rectify this problem first then go back to the earlier
problem.

My drive seems to be working fine but maybe it's the burning function.
Thanks anyway "Kemko"
