I bought long time ago, almost immy after release, the Windows XP Pro.
I used it for more than 3 years with the legal code furnished by>>
Microsoft .
Two days ago when updating, I downloaded all of them and at the end,
Microsoft asked me to purchase a genuine product.
I had the serial number with me at anytime.
I do not know the way to complain it by mail, as I could not find a free
way to get them.
I am not prepared to pay USD 35.00 for a problem which is not mine.
I understood that when you buy a genuine product you do not have to bother
anylonger.
Any hint how can I get this problem solved, please ????

yup
Check out Windows Genuine Advantage homepage in MS. itll tell ya all about
it. If you want to get rid of it-there are simple ways too

Please run this tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012
and press "copy to clipboard" and paste the contents in a reply to this thread

Waiting with interest the results of your analyzis.
My intention is to re-install my Windows XP Pro. However, being a very old
version, it has no SP2
and I fear this will cause many problems.. or no ???.
Can I do that problems free ?

Did you read the article to which I linked? Specifically the part on error
code 0x80072EE7?
