Need your advice

Hello Everyone

I just bought a new scanner HP Scanjet 4070 Photosmart and due to space
constraints, the only suitable place I could find to place it, is next to
speaker.

The question is, will speaker interfere or damage scanner or vice versa?
there is only 1 inch of space between the two.

Secondly, I'm new to scanners and graphics. I have very little idea about
resolutions and touch ups to the scanned images. Things like Hues and Gamma
are completely new to me.

Can you please guide me to some websites where I can get my concepts clear
about those things.

I have read some messages above but I need more help if possible.
