need XP CD, but didn't come with comp when bought

When I bought my computer, it came with Windows XP already installed on it. Now, I need the XP CD to restore some files that corrupted my windows update program. Is there any other way that I could get these files restored?
 
Greetings --

You should have a folder called C:\i386, from which most WinXP
files can be recovered. If not, you'll need an installation CD.
Contact the PC's manufacturer for support.
