I accidently uninstalled a usb driver while using add/remove programs.
How do I reinstall it. There were two USB files. One was a USB Storage
adapter FX (SM1) the other was a driver.
TIA

I found out that it reinstalled the driver on its own after I moved to
another port.
However I have not been able to download the sp2.
Nevertheless I did get the drive back up but it is an 80 gig with 5
partitions. Only one partition shows up at 7.8 gig and > I safely
uninstalled it but it will not go back on. THis is time consuming and
later I may try to reboot or take the system files off the hard disk. I
will have to reinstall it on the original machine reboot the win 98. This
is not 2.0 usb and it crashes.
I have been trying to get IE5.0 but I can only use the ie4.0 that came
with the machine. All firewalls and other software I was accostomed to
have been obsolete so it is a tedious process.

and with SP2, patches were included.
With device attached to USB input, in device manager remove device,
close all windows and reboot, XP should reinstall it.
If not and your device has specific drivers (It shouldn't?)
Go to the devices manufacturers site and click the support link
follow to downloads link, and download required drivers for your
specific device - All hardware manufacturers have a support/update/
patches/download link.

What is not clear why you suspect the USB drive will function on Win98?
You typed: "I suspect it is due to a backup of the execbat file
from the original."???? Nope, you going the wrong road, and I can't
figure what line you are pursuing?
This is www.download.com being an excellent site for software
of every kind for every occasion, you will have to register, but it's
free.
