Need upgrade

I need to upgrade my current op sys to XP, if I order it
from the Microsoft site is it a download or do they
actually send me something via snail mail? Does anyone
know?

Best bet is to goto a computer shop and purchase the upgrade version of XP,
Microsoft doesn't sell software online for downloads.
I would wait until SP-2 is released and you will get the new version when
you buy.
 
Any idea when that version will be out?

The Windows XP OS is not a download at all (apart from those who have an
MSDN Sub, but if you had one you would know about it). You have to buy
the CD - probably an Upgrade one - at any good discount computer store
