Hi guys

I got suckered into downloading a plug in that was meant to be for Windows Media, but it ended up giving me all sorts of spyware that I didn't need. i deleted most of it, but now when I open up my internet browser, I get a toolbar at the bottom of my screen from contexualsearch.com, and a MSN search toolbar at the top of my screen right below the address bar. I deleted all my cookies, temporary intenet files, and history. I went into my computer and went thru all my documents and settings, deleting everything I knew I didn't need. I also cannot change my Home Page...it automatically loads MSN. I used my Ad Aware progam to get as much spyware out as possible. What else can I do? Is there a way to go in and set all my internet browser stuff back to the default just-got-the-computer settings? I know there has to be a way to get rid of this!

Download the utility CWshredder:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

Unzip - close *all* instances of IE & OE, hit the executable and
follow the prompts.

You can also download Hijack This from here:

http://www.mjc1.com/files/merijn/hijackthis.exe

Go here:
http://mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/

For instructions on how to use it; you have to post the log it
produces so experts tell you what is good and what is malware

You can also use the free utility spybot:

Spybot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download

If these don't correct the problem, then get yourself a copy of
BHODemon, available at
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm .

It does not need installing - simply unzip and run the EXE program. It
is easy to use. It will find the hijackware DLL files, and give you
the ability to disable them.

Hope this helps.
