Need to round a formula up or down to a specific number

I am working a retail price formula rounding up or down to either

$X,X49.95
$X,X99.95

this will round to the nearest dollar, up or down

With your price in A1 try

=ROUND((A1+0.05)*2,-2)/2-0.05

or using MROUND from Analysis ToolPak

=MROUND(A1+0.05,50)-0.05

Try one of these:

For a value in A1,

B1: =ROUND(A1/50,0)*50-0.05
or
B1: =MROUND(A1,50)-0.05
(MROUND is from the Analysis Toolpak)

Note: the lowest price that works for is $25.00. Under that, the formula
calculates $-0.05. If you want the minimum price to be $49.95, try one of
these:

B1: =ROUND(MAX(A1,25)/50,0)*50-0.05
or
B1: =MROUND(MAX(A1,25),50)-0.05
