Dave

Recently bought XP upgrade and upgraded my old ME machine
to XP. Only problem is, now i can't use MS office as it
asks for the office cd to install some files. I have the
cd but no cd key as its on the recovery cd i got with pc.
Is there any way i can retreive my cd key from my hard
drive? Why does it need the cd key again anyway? This is
really annoying me as it almost completes the install of
the files it needs when it asks for my key again.
Any help would be great, I don't want to have to spend
money on buying a product I already own.

Made a slight mistake there, after XP upgrade has
finished, my office is still there and it works but it
keeps coming up with an installer box everytime i open
any of the components (outlook, word etc) and on bootup.
WHY is it doing this and how do i stop it Grrrrrrrr.

Greetings --

If you performed an in-place upgrade from an earlier edition of
Windows, and the Office applications were already installed, you'll
likely have to repair or reinstall them, so they can add the necessary
additional functions needed for use on a multi-user OS. It may be
sufficient to simply insert the respective installation CD and select
the "Detect and Repair" option.
