I got a bad news from PartitionMagic support that I need to copy the
content of the damaged partition and re-create it. Basically I got PM
error #106 and they are not able to fix it, even with partinfo.txt
provided. They said I cannot use Ghost to make image of the partition
because it may also copy bad partition info. Do you know of any other
software that I can use to get content of the partition and copy to new
partition? I would like to copy all, including OS installation, not
just data. I have some OS specific settings that I hate to lose. TIA.

Here are a couple of easy ways:
a) Install the problem disk as a slave disk in some other
WinXP/2000 PC, then use xcopy with the appropriate
switches (to include hidden & system files) to copy the
lot across.
b) Boot the machine with a Bart PE boot disk (www.bootdisk.com),
then use xcopy to copy the lot to a second disk.

Making a Bart PE boot disk requires a CD burner, a WinXP
Professional CD (but no licence number) plus about three
hours of your time.
