I have a 20 gig hard drive on my dell (how lame, right?), so I want to add a
2nd hard drive (which I had layig around). It is 20 gigs also and it has
Windows XP pro on it. (so does my original HD)

what do i do....?
are there any risks...?

please someone help a brother in need...

Install the second drive as slave on the primary IDE connection or on the
secondary IDE connection.
Check the jumpers on both drives.
The boot.ini will not reference the second drive, so it will not be able to
boot.

Hi,

Set it as a slave or master depending on where you are connecting it, don't
forget the power connection - then boot. You won't be able to load the copy
of Windows on the second drive without a bit more work. But. if you are just
using it for data storage, then either format and go, or just start using
it.
