Need Supposed "Windows XP Password" Never Used to Back Up Files

How can I retrieve a supposed Windows password I can't recall.

I purchased back-up software, Syncback SE, that requires my "Windows
password" in order to run a scheduled back-up. The software company website
(2BrightSparks from Simgapore) says this is a Windows XP mandate.

I tried all the passwords I normally use, but "access is denied". I tried
the Microsoft "help" menu, but it just has generic advice on passwords.

I guess my wife or I may have input a password for Windows when I installed
Windows XP or bought my new computer, but I don't use a password to log in to
my home computer...or for anything else. I have no memory of doing so

How can I possibly get a password I may have created years ago, but never
used once I chose not to require a password for log-in?

We almost had a crash last night due to Dell hardware and I am very, very
nervous about my inability to back up regularly.

Thank you in advance,
Dan

Dear Kerry Brown,

Thank you so very much. I had never created a password.

I was able to successfully set the back-up schedule and I'm sure it will run
as scheduled in the wee hours of the morning.

When I wake up and know my files are safe, I'll be a much relieved person.
Thank you for taking the time to make me considerably happier.

Best regards,
Dan

Your welcome. Be sure to test your backup. Try restoring at least a few
files to a different location and then compare them to the originals. Two
reasons for this. One, to make sure the backup works. Two, to learn how the
restore procedure works. The worst time to try and figure out how the
restore procedure works is when you are panicked because your system has
crashed.
